At Animal Care Hospital, we are dedicated to providing top-notch veterinary care with compassion and understanding. Our full-service, privately owned veterinary hospital is located in the High Desert and offers a family feel with state-of-the-art veterinary care. We pride ourselves on clear communication and personalized care for your furry family members.
Our team is led by Dr. Ron Boyd, who has been working in veterinary medicine since he was 16 years old. Dr. Boyd attended UC Irvine and Fresno State for his undergraduate studies and graduated from Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. He has taken on various roles, including Chief of Staff, Medical Director, and Site Preceptor Instructor for Western University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Boyd enjoys mentoring and training new veterinarians and support staff, reflecting his passion for the field.
Dr. Tess Clark joined our team in January 2021. She grew up in the High Desert and was active in 4-H, raising various animals. Dr. Clark attended Brigham Young University and Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, completing her clinical year at Purdue University. She has practiced veterinary medicine in Ohio and Utah before returning to California. In addition to cats and dogs, Dr. Clark sees birds, reptiles, and pocket pets. She enjoys riding horses and spending time outdoors.
Our practice manager, Suzi, has been in the veterinary field since 2004. She holds an Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from UC Davis. Suzi has completed courses in dentistry under veterinary dentist Dr. Brook Niemiec. She enjoys sculpting, painting, and hiking, and shares her home with her boyfriend and their pets.
Rebecca, another Registered Veterinary Technician, obtained her RVT license in 2007. She has an Associate's degree from Victor Valley College and another from Mt. San Antonio College. Rebecca has also completed courses in dentistry under Dr. Brook Niemiec. She enjoys interior design, gardening, and time with her pets, and has a self-admitted obsession with chapstick and pigs.
Jennifer joined our team in April 2019, bringing over nine years of experience in the veterinary field. She has lived in the High Desert her entire life and has a true appreciation for her community. Jennifer is known for her compassionate care and strives to provide the best possible service for all our clients. She shares her home with her husband and their three pets: two dogs named Ruger and Rossi, and a tortoise named Shelltin.
Ruthanne has been in the veterinary field since 2002 and has over five additional years at the Humane Society. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and has completed courses in dentistry under Dr. Brook Niemiec. Ruthanne's hands-on approach lends a great amount of talent to our staff. In her spare time, she enjoys camping with her husband and doing agility work with her dog.
Marie joined our team with a background in emergency veterinary medicine. She has a special interest in anesthesia and pain management. Marie has an Associate's degree from Carrington College and became a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2020. She and her family have three cats, three dogs, and one snake. In her free time, Marie loves spending quality time with her children, watching scary movies, and going on road trips.
Trina has been with Animal Care Hospital since 2007. She is the glue that keeps our hospital running smoothly. As a veterinary assistant, Trina is caring and knows every area of the hospital inside and out. In her downtime, she enjoys spending time with friends and relaxing with her two little dogs.
Heather joined us in June 2014 as a graduate from a veterinary assistant program. She has always had a love for furry, feathery friends and occasional reptiles. Heather has experience in animal care, including two years as a volunteer at the Dorothy O'Conner Animal Shelter in Texas. She has a full household including two children, two exotic birds, two Himalayan cats, and two dogs.
Debi has worked in the veterinary field since 2003. She started her medical career in medical billing but soon realized her true calling was working with animals. Debi has experience with cats, birds, ferrets, turtles, and rabbits. She enjoys spending time with her husband and has been known to do an occasional mud run. Debi has a special place in her heart for senior pets and Basset Hounds.
Lizbeth (Liz) joined us from Orange County, bringing experience from a dog daycare center. She is always ready to jot down something new to learn about. Liz adores reading, especially the Harry Potter and Percy Jackson series. She enjoys relaxing at home with her brother and two amazing pets and often finds herself at Barnes and Noble searching for a good book.
Kim has a well-rounded background working with animals, including pet grooming, pet rescue, horse ranch rescue, pet retail management, and veterinary hospitals. She has even worked at a zoo Kim enjoys working with exotic animals and considers it one of the coolest experiences anyone can have in life. She shares her home with her husband, two cats, a Great Dane puppy, and a deaf chihuahua mix.
Drema has been part of the ACH family for over 16 years. She has worked as a veterinary assistant and is now retired but still hangs out at the clinic. Drema is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT) and a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT). She has a background in dog training and has worked in nursing homes and Alzheimer's units. Drema also participates in the monthly children's READ program at the Apple Valley Library.
