Janice Griffin has loved animals all of her life. At a young age, she began working in the horse barns around Timonium and in local animal hospitals. After high school, she continued to work with animals and eventually received a degree in Veterinary Technology from Morehead State University in Kentucky. After earning her degree, she worked as a vet-tech in California while working on her college prerequisites for vet school. After gaining acceptance to the Virginia Maryland Regional DVM program, she enrolled at Virginia Tech. In 1992, she completed her degree and became a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, and has been practicing medicine for the last 25 years. She lives near Gambrill Park with her husband Glenn and their four children, Matt, Hannah, Gracie, and Luke. They also share their home with two golden retrievers, six rescued cats, and a bunny. In her spare time, she enjoys riding her horses, Pip and Devon.
