Abbey is originally from Rantoul, Illinois and attended Austin Peay State University in Tennessee, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in agriculture with a concentration in veterinary technology. In total, she’s been working with animals professionally for more than eight years—she’s had experience in everything from shelter medicine and animal-control facilities to emergency and critical-care hospitals. Abbey’s favorite part of veterinary medicine, though, is getting to treat a variety of patients in general practice. She’s particularly fond of assisting with surgeries and performing dental cleanings. When she’s not at work, Abbey enjoys playing the guitar, watching a good mystery movie on Netflix, and cuddling up with a good book and her two cats at home. Her feline companions are Lilo, a three-year-old female, and a two-year-old male named Salem [citation].
