Born and raised in Montreal, Canada, Dr. Hanrahan is delighted to join the Mountain View Animal Hospital and Holistic Pet Care team as a dedicated companion animal veterinarian.
Her journey in veterinary care has taken her across borders, enriching her expertise and passion for providing top-tier care to our beloved furry companions. After completing an undergraduate degree in molecular and cell biology and then a master’s degree in neuroscience in Canada, a love for exploration led her to pursue a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Budapest, Hungary. This immersive international education has provided her with unique skills and a global perspective on the field.
Dr. Hanrahan’s veterinary life led her through diverse experiences, including externships in companion animal, farm animal (with a focus on dairy cows) and laboratory animal medicine. These varied roles have given her insights into the intricacies of different aspects of veterinary care.
She is an advocate for the power of preventive care and monitoring health trends over time to catch early signs of disease, thus ensuring the vitality and longevity of our beloved pets. Furthermore, she deeply values the well-being of animals in terms of both their physical and mental health.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Hanrahan enjoys running, hiking, and cycling during the warmer months, and snowboarding during the winter. She also has a creative side, with a love for pottery and indoor plants. She shares her home with her husband and two cherished kitties: their Oriental Shorthair, Nico and Cornish Rex, Jim.
Dr. Hanrahan is thrilled to bring her expertise, enthusiasm, and genuine care to the Mountain View Animal Hospital and Holistic Pet Care team. She is honored to be entrusted with the well-being of your furry family members and looks forward to partnering with you to ensure a happy and healthy life for them. Dr. Hanrahan is a graduate of the University of Veterinary Medicine, Budapest – a university that is accredited by the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE). She is in the final stage of converting from a European to a North American veterinary license. Mountain View Animal Hospital and Holistic Pet Care is proud to include externs and VGAL-enrolled doctors (Veterinary Graduate Awaiting Licensure). These highly qualified doctors undergo years of rigorous and specialized testing that many recognize as being more difficult than what US veterinary graduates undergo. Mountain View Animal Hospital and Holistic Pet Care is extremely proud and grateful that we have created a collaborative workplace for these graduate doctors while also helping support the medical demands of our local community.
