Shannon graduated from Simpson College with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. She went on to attend Des Moines University to get her Master of Science in Anatomy. She has worked at All Creatures Small since 2004 when she was hired as Kennel Staff. She began teaching in 2007. Shannon and her husband have two dogs and one cat. They enjoy traveling and kayaking.
