M. Kelly Keating graduated from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities in 2011 and completed a 3-year anatomic pathology residency at the University of California - Davis, culminating in board certification with the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in 2014. She completed an Infectious Disease Fellowship with the Centers of Disease Control & Prevention and stayed on as a Staff Pathologist. She then worked in drug safety assessment with Charles River Laboratories. She has co-authored multiple peer-reviewed articles, and book chapters primarily in the field of infectious disease pathology. She is a member of the International Society of Veterinary Dermatopathology (ISVD) and the American College of Veterinary Pathology (ACVP). She is merging her interests of dermatology and dermatopathology by completing a dermatology residency with Animal Dermatology Clinic - Tustin. Her areas of interest and expertise include neoplastic and inflammatory skin disease, immunohistochemistry, and the advancement of dermatology through complex cases and studies that combine dermatopathology and clinical findings and treatment responses [citation].
