Dr. Heather Jones graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2002, where she earned her Veterinary Medical Doctoral (VMD) degree with honors. She worked in small animal practice for a few years before becoming a zoo veterinarian at the Detroit and Toledo Zoos. Dr. Jones also enjoyed being a high school biology teacher and instructor to veterinary technology students. She opened Animal Friends in 2014 and loves seeing her patients and teaching pet parents about animal care. Dr. Jones is passionate about recycling and conservation and likes the challenge of seeing a variety of exotic animal species.
