Dr. Jennifer Goetz started working in the veterinary field in high school as a kennel technician and loved every minute of it. She has had a profound love of animals her whole life. Dr. Goetz graduated from North Carolina State University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997, graduating in the top 5 percent of her veterinary class. She earned her undergraduate degree in Animal Science with Distinction from the University of Delaware, with minors in Biology and Chemistry. Dr. Goetz volunteered at an animal hospital in 1984 and moved to North Carolina to attend veterinary school at NCSU in 1992. She completed a vigorous internship in Small Animal Surgery and Internal Medicine in Irving, Texas, and worked as a relief veterinarian for 6 months at Tri County Veterinary Service in Eli Whitney, North Carolina. She then worked at Bowman Animal Hospital for eight years. Dr. Goetz lives in Pittsboro with her husband, teenage daughter, six dogs, seven indoor cats, three outdoor feral cats, a dwarf bunny, chickens, fish, and many plants. Her adopted fur babies include Slick, a senior Diabetic Main Coon kitty who has called AHBC home for several years [citation][3][5].
