Dr. Halty was born in Santiago, Chile on November 27, 1951. He entered the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Chile in 1972. Then he emigrated to Argentina in 1973 without finishing his veterinary studies. In 1978, Dr. Halty emigrated to the USA and in 1980, he joined the US Army, getting an honorable discharge in 1983. He got married in 1983, and he has three children, all of whom live in Chile.
Dr. Halty entered the Bronx Community College in 1984, obtaining the Degree of Applied Sciences in 1987 with Honors. He worked in different jobs but always had the dream to become a Veterinarian. So in 1995, Dr. Halty returned to Chile and restarted his veterinary career, graduating in August 2000. He worked as a large animal veterinarian for a short period in Chile but returned to the States in 2001. After several years working to validate his title, Dr. Halty obtained the title of DVM in 2009. Since then, he has been working as an associate Veterinarian, first for Banfield and currently at Animal Hospital of Morris Park [citation].
