Dr. Gillespie was born and raised in northern Utah. After serving in the Marines, he enrolled in college with the goal of becoming a veterinarian. He graduated from Colorado State Veterinary school in 1979 and moved his young family to Burley, Idaho where he worked for Dr. Fairbrother. In 1981, he and Dr. Bill Fulcher started their own practice, naming it Animal Medical Clinic. In 1988, Dr. Fulcher left to start his own practice and in 1989 Dr. Bosted arrived. They have been partners ever since. Dr. Gillespie’s love of veterinary medicine is evidenced by the fact that all three of his adult boys are now veterinarians too. While Clyde originally worked mostly on cattle, over the years he developed a keen interest in dogs, cats and other pets. They now comprise 90% of the practice. He has many pets of his own and considers them part of the family. He is an avid outdoorsman and loves living in this beautiful community [citation].
