Dana originally grew up in Charleston and moved to Nevada, England, Hawaii, New Mexico and then Colorado. She began her animal-related career early with a wide range of animals including horses and chimpanzees while working at New Mexico State University and Colorado State Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Dana returned to Charleston to be closer to her family and began her experience at Animal Medical West in 1996 as a technician. She is now the hospital manager where she currently strives to make Animal Medical West a place where all animals feel welcome, comfortable, and above all receive the best care possible. Dana has three dogs, a Bluetick Coonhound mix named Cindy, a Redbone Coonhound named Fern, and a Redbone Coonhound mix named Emmy Lou. Dana and her husband have one son. They are on the board of the Carolina Coonhound Rescue and often welcome Coonhound fosters into their home until they find their forever family.
