Growing up on a small family farm in Michigan, Dr. Hartman started learning about animals at an early age. She began working toward her goal of Veterinary medicine while still in high school, volunteering as a veterinary assistant for a local mixed animal practice. After graduating from Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Hartman moved to Rochester where she has lived and practiced for 35 years. Dr. Hartman’s professional interests include feline medicine, geriatric care, and “fear free” treatment methods. When she is not at the hospital, Dr. Hartman enjoys water skiing, gardening, and the outdoors. In addition, she also enjoys spending time with wildlife or her dog, cats, ducks, and fish [citation].
