Dr. Katie Pappert is a Hilton High School graduate. Her love for veterinary medicine started over 2 decades ago, as a kennel assistant at Apple Country Veterinary Hospital. This hands-on experience laid the foundation for her career, instilling in her a strong work ethic and a genuine empathy for animals. Dr. Pappert pursued her undergraduate studies at SUNY Geneseo, earning a Bachelor's degree in Biology in 2004. Her academic pursuits continued at Cornell University, where she achieved her lifelong dream of becoming a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. With a commitment to excellence, Dr. Pappert completed a comprehensive internship post-graduation, refining her skills and gaining invaluable experience in various aspects of veterinary medicine. Dr. Pappert possesses extensive experience in emergency and critical care, having dedicated years to serving as an emergency clinician. Her expertise in this field enables her to provide swift and effective care to animals in critical need. Dr. Pappert also has a special interest in geriatric care. She is committed to ensuring the well-being and comfort of senior pets, providing tailored treatment plans to meet their unique needs and enhance their quality of life. Dr. Pappert is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the New York Veterinary Association, and the Genesee Valley Medical Association. Outside of her veterinary practice, Dr. Pappert lives in the area with her husband, two kids, and dog. She enjoys spending any spare time at her camp in the Adirondacks, fishing with her children, giving old furniture a new look, and DIY home renovation projects.
