Dr. Brett Cordes grew up in Iowa – the heart of the animal health corridor and where many of the major advancements in veterinary medicine were founded. After graduating from Iowa State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996, Dr. Cordes has built a diverse career. His expertise spans time as a practitioner with mixed animals and emergency medicine, a medical director for a national veterinary pharmacy service company, and is also an ongoing consultant to many leaders throughout the veterinary industry to help pioneer better approaches to medicine, patient care and safety.
Currently, Dr. Cordes is serving a five-year term on USP’s Healthcare Safety & Quality Expert Committee and is also the subcommittee chair for USP’s Chapter 800 task force. The late Senator John McCain also recognized Dr. Cordes for his participation in TGen’s National Advisory Council for Dog and Human Precision Medicine.
Dr. Cordes is an active hiker and enjoys many outdoor activities with his wife Michelle and two children – Olivia and Clark. Dr. Cordes’ professional experience, warm demeanor, and philosophy of "We Care We Serve" are highly valued at Arizona Animal Hospital [citation].
