Melissa Toney grew up in Southeast Louisiana, and has always had a strong love for animals of all kinds (except spiders). She has been working in the veterinary field for 10 years with a background in Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Emergency, and Exotics. She currently shares her house with 2 crows; Roland and Morrigan, 4 cats; Ace, Spade, Lou, and Charlie, and the 3 loves of her life; her huskies Kona, Bodhi, and Shai. In her free time, she volunteers and works extensively with Raptor Rehab of Central Arkansas, where she enjoys assisting in medical care and recovery, as well as training non-releasable birds of prey as Education Birds, giving them a second chance at life at educational facilities here in Arkansas. On her days off, you can find her piled on the couch with her dogs (and a bird or two) with her face in a book.
