Dr. Rachel Blatchford joined the Block House Creek Animal Hospital family in 2018. She started her veterinary journey by volunteering at local shelters at age 14 in Chicago, Illinois, and working in veterinary clinics during high school and college. She attended Indiana State University to obtain her BS in Biology and Chemistry and after graduating in 2014, she attended Ross University on St. Kitts in the Caribbean. While in veterinary school, Dr. Blatchford volunteered on a veterinary relief trip to Costa Rica with the VIDA organization to address the overpopulation of animals in the area by providing spay/neuter services. She finished her clinical rotations at the University of Tennessee Knoxville in June 2018.
