Dr. Samantha Moon received her bachelor's degree in Animal Science from Oklahoma State University and her D.V.M. from Kansas State University. She has worked in several rescues as well as Trap Neuter Return programs prior to veterinary school, including Tiny Paws Kitten Rescue in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Operation Catnip. She served as the Kansas State University Shelter Medicine Department student worker, where she worked as one of their high-volume spay/neuter technicians during summers and holidays and helped support training of fourth year veterinary students even before she became one herself. Most recently, she served as one of the staff veterinarians for Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter, where she helped care for both the medical and surgical care of animals in the shelter. Dr. Moon has two special needs cats from the very neonatal kitten rescue that started her passion for shelter medicine. Outside of work, she enjoys knitting, soap making, reading, watching movies, and exploring her new surroundings.
