Dr. Reddy came to the United States in 1974. He attended Tuskegee University in Alabama, where he obtained a Masters in Veterinary Pathology. He then worked for the American Health Foundation, conducting cancer research for eight years. After that, he worked with the New York ASPCA from 1984-1986, before moving to Connecticut. He worked for one year in Greenwich and two years in Monroe, before finally making his way to Bridgeport, CT in 1988 where he has been practicing for the past 25 years. He has had a decorated 25 years of service receiving many awards including an official citation from Senator Alvin Penn, "in recognition of outstanding and unselfish dedication of service to our pets, community, and city." His service to the Bridgeport, CT community has been so extensive that the City of Bridgeport officially declared May 3rd "Dr. Bandaru Reddy Day." He now lives at home with his dog Bernie, and his cat Loki [citation].
