Lorna McPeek grew up on a small farm in both Colorado and Kansas. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Newman University in Wichita, Kansas and worked for 2.5 years as a Registered Nurse on an oncology unit and a medical unit. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2017 from Kansas State University, and worked for a year in Alliance, Nebraska at a mixed animal practice. In 2018, Dr. McPeek moved to Rawlins to join the team at Carbon County Veterinary Hospital, where she feels very much at home. In her spare time, Dr. McPeek enjoys camping, hiking, teaching violin lessons, and teaching Youth Sunday school at the First Southern Baptist church in town. She owns a Belgian Malinois named Mazurka, a gecko, and a warren of rabbits which she raises for meat.
