Dr. Nicole M. Headlee received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University in 2015 and her Bachelor's of Science in Biology (with minors in Animal Science and Military Science) from Western Kentucky University in 2011. Prior to completing her degrees, she served over six years in the United States Army, including a deployment to Iraq.
Upon graduation from Auburn, Dr. Headlee practiced in a well-respected hospital in Houston for almost two years. She and her husband, Brian Peterson, wanted to be closer to their family, so they headed to Ohio in 2016. They share their home with their energetic and sweet Labradors, Lemon, Moose, and Avi; Cavaliers named Pickles, Wesley, Junebug and Maple; as well as six awesome cats - Moses, Petal, Tater Tot, Ducky, Sploot Baby Ruth, and Flerken. They also raise chickens and ducks and love the fresh eggs they get daily. Their swans, Siegfried and Odette, guard the pond and house!
Dr. Headlee's areas of professional interest include exotic pets, dermatology, reproduction, internal medicine, cardiology, feline medicine, and hospice care. For fun, she enjoys music (singing, playing the piano and clarinet), hiking, kayaking, power lifting, reading, and watching Pittsburgh sports [citation].
