Dr. Amanda Pike received her DVM and Masters in Comparative Biomedical Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She received her BA from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL. Even from a young age, she knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. She was fortunate to have exposure to many pets and animals, which sparked a joy in interacting with animals. Dr. Pike finds it an honor and a privilege to work with people and pets in their own homes, especially for anxious pets and exotic animals sensitive to Wisconsin winters. She grew up with a variety of pets, including dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, parakeets, lizards, snakes, hamsters, a chinchilla, a ferret, gerbils, a salamander, indoor fish, koi fish outdoors, a rat, a turtle, and now a tortoise. Her experience as a caretaker for these animals was invaluable for learning proper handling and care. As a veterinarian, she enjoys all species and provides them with medical care. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and pets, watching comedies, reading or listening to books on CD, gardening, remodeling, landscaping, traveling, playing piano, and doing crosswords or Sudoku [citation].
