Amy grew up living at Loud Thunder and pursued her dream of working with animals by graduating with an Associates of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from Northeast Missouri State University. She is a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Her experience has led her to believe the most heartwarming reward is seeing a sick pet now well and going home with a happy owner.
She has over 20 years of experience in the husbandry of rabbits, raising nationally winning show rabbits and was inducted into the Holland Lop Rabbit Hall of Fame. Jamie currently resides outside of Milan, IL with her husband, Mike. She enjoys being with family, flower and vegetable gardening, landscaping, trail riding, and showing her Toy Fox Terriers.
Amy worked at Andalusia Road for 2 years before her love of adventure, travel, and influence from her sweetheart led her to the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In the anesthesiology department, she discovered the challenge of working with large animals, involved in long surgeries, and being called to work all hours of the night.
A few years later, Amy moved back to the Quad Cities. Returning to her Andalusia Road family, she spent the next 10 years educating owners and caring for their pets before joining us in 2015.
