Dr. Dana Kent graduated from Oscar Smith High School in June 1982. She attended TCC for the first 2 years of college, then transferred over to ODU. Dr. Kent and her husband, Dr. Scott Sears, graduated from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. Both entered into small animal practice following vet school. Over the years, Dr. Sears found that he enjoyed the fast-paced world of emergency veterinary medicine, while Dr. Kent preferred to be the "family practice" veterinarian. After 9 years in different practices, Dominion Veterinary Hospital was born, officially opening in June 2000. Both doctors wanted to create a practice that was more than just a business, but one that created an extended family. Over the years, the mesh of Dr. Kent working full-time and Dr. Sears working part-time, along with a dedicated staff, we have been able to achieve our goal. To create a practice where quality veterinary medicine and surgery are performed along with a friendly, relaxed, and professional manner towards our clients. Thank you for allowing us the privilege to care for you and your pets [citation].
