Katie Hom is originally from Duluth, MN and graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. She began practicing small animal medicine in the Brainerd Lakes area in a practice that also operated a wildlife rehabilitation program. Labradors to loons, beagles to badgers; all helped to develop a broad application of medicine across many species. She continued to practice part-time while raising her three children in Ashland, WI and eventually moved with them to Eagle River in 2009. Five years later, she became the owner of the Eagle River Animal Hospital. Her clinical interests include acupuncture and animal behavior to further support health and well-being in her patients. She lives and fills her spare time on a hobby farm where she can enjoy her two horses and one cat. One day she will find time to return to quilting, reading, and gardening, but not yet.
