Steve Hamilton is originally from Canada but has lived in the United States for 3 decades. He went to Washington State University for his undergraduate studies and veterinary school. Dr. Hamilton graduated in 1995. He moved to Tumwater to start his career and met Kim, his wife. Dr. Hamilton has three kids: Noah, Joe, and Bella. In his spare time, he coaches Bella’s soccer team and Noah’s baseball team, in addition to watching all three of his kids' sporting endeavors. He also enjoys throwing around the football with Joe. Adding to his busy schedule is a hobby farm with Kim where they raise Finn sheep, chickens, and an assortment of other creatures.
He enjoys both medicine and surgical cases. The challenge of solving the puzzle of a pet not doing well and getting them on the road to recovery is the part that he loves the most. Dr. Hamilton currently has dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, geese, turkeys, sheep, and a horse named “Cowboy.”
Outside hobbies/interests include watching sports, gardening, cooking, watching wildlife, and working out. Originally from B.C Canada, he has also lived in Southern California and Washington. His favorite food is pizza and Carne Asada. His motto is "Helping you help your pet," and he works hard every day trying to help people improve the human-animal bond from the first puppy visit to the last to say goodbye [citation].
