Karyn grew up in Ohio and earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Wittenberg University in 2010. Following college, she pursued professional opportunities in wildlife rehabilitation, becoming a Certified Wildlife Rehabilitator and caring for injured and orphaned wildlife for over a decade at various wildlife rehabilitation facilities across the country. In addition to her wildlife background, Karyn has worked with domestic and exotic animals in the veterinary department at a humane society in Dover, NH. Karyn joined the FVH team in 2022. When not at work, she enjoys reading, practicing the violin, kayaking, and hiking with her partner and two rescue dogs, Libby and Theo.
