Dr. Doug Dilworth grew up on a grain and livestock farm in West-Central Illinois. His early education started with his own 4-H sheep herd; horses; family cattle and swine operations. The local veterinarian's skill with animals and people was the inspiration to consider this profession at an early age.
Dr. Dilworth completed a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Iowa State in December 1987 and his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine was celebrated in May of 1992. He has always been enthusiastic about clients, veterinary care, and the joy of helping people.
When not helping people and pets, Dr. Dilworth teaches horsemanship, horse handling, and training of horses at 3-D Horsemanship with his wife Lisa in Waxhaw, NC. Their two girls, Carter and Charlee, always add exciting dimensions to their lives every day. Their animal family includes Irish Draught Horses; Quarter Horses; 2 ponies; a small flock of Katahdin Sheep; along with Checkers, their Border Collie; and cats; Phoebe, Bert, and 3 new tortoise-shell calico kittens [citation].
