Amanda has had a love for veterinary medicine since she was a child. She has been in Veterinary Medicine for over 20 years. Her first job was at a clinic in Slidell, LA as a volunteer while she was a junior in high school. While still in high school, she moved to North Platte, Nebraska. After graduating from high school in 2000, she started courses for Veterinary Assistant, and after graduation from that program, she started taking Veterinary Technician courses. In 2002 she was hired at a mixed animal practice in North Platte, NE, then moved with one of the doctors to a small animal-only practice, where she remained until 2014. In 2014 she moved back home to Louisiana to be closer to family. She was hired at a clinic in Ponchatoula, LA, and remained there until 2020, when she was hired at Hillside. Amanda has such a love for animals and treats every patient as if they were her own fur baby. Amanda continues to learn with continuing education as veterinary medicine is ever-changing. When not at work, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family, son, and husband. They love to spend time taking their son places to explore, and his favorite place is the beach or Pawpaw’s house. She enjoys gardening, growing tomatoes and peppers, along with cooking. She has 6 rescue dogs: 4 Chihuahuas, Saint, Roux, Brees, Beignet, and 2 Catahoula X Tangi and Toula.
