Dr. Kevin Weis is originally from a small community south of Augusta, Georgia known as Shell Bluff. He spent a great deal of time in Aiken growing up with extended family. While in high school at Burke County, he started working at a local veterinary clinic and fell in love with the profession. He then attended Augusta State University before transferring to the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, where he earned his Bachelor of Animal Science degree. Dr. Weis then was accepted into the University Of Georgia College Of Veterinary Medicine and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. He went on to complete a rotating small animal internship at Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Charlotte, North Carolina. There, he worked with specialists in multiple small animal fields including internal medicine, dermatology, surgery, neurology, and emergency medicine. Dr. Weis then practiced mixed animal medicine in Waynesboro, Georgia before coming to Aiken where he has practiced since 2006.
Dr. Weis is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Georgia Veterinary Medical Association, and the Georgia-Carolina Veterinary Medical Association. He enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but has special interests in internal medicine, critical care, and dermatology. In his spare time, he enjoys all outdoor activities especially hiking, fishing, camping, and gardening. He’s also a proud member of The Bulldawg Nation and enjoys college football.
