Dr. Kristen Walker is a native Texan but has called Colorado home since 2013. She received her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University prior to a 10-year career in commercial real estate lending in Las Vegas, NV. However, it was her deep-seated passion for animals and her dedication to volunteering with rescue organizations that ultimately guided her toward a career in veterinary medicine. Dr. Walker earned her veterinary degree from Colorado State University in 2017.
Kristen and her husband, Mike, have a long-standing commitment to rescuing senior dogs. Their numerous positive experiences with Home to Heaven, an organization known for its exceptional kindness and compassion, inspired Dr. Walker to join the team, furthering her ability to make a difference in the lives of pets and their families.
No longer working in a clinic, Dr. Walker has shifted her focus to the broader pet healthcare industry. She advocates for accessible, comprehensive veterinary care tailored to each pet family’s needs, fueled by her passion for animal welfare and a commitment to improving the lives of pets and their families with innovative and compassionate solutions. Outside of work, Kristen and Mike’s home is a haven for their beloved pets. Their family includes four senior pups —Oscar, Ozzie, Tumbles, and Bruiser—and four cats—Smitten, Gracie, Black Betty, and Boomer.
