Abigail Ball grew up in the Waterford area. She grew up surrounded by all kinds of animals—raising her own dairy goats, riding horses at local stables, working on dairy farms, and owning dogs and cats at home. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison for both her undergraduate and veterinary school studies. She earned her DVM with an equine emphasis in 2019. Following this, she moved to Milton, Vermont to complete a one-year equine medicine and surgery internship at Vermont Large Animal Clinic-Equine Hospital. She moved back to Wisconsin in 2020 and then worked as an ambulatory equine veterinarian at a private practice in SE Wisconsin for 3 years. She recently moved to the Fort Atkinson area and is excited to meet all the clients and animals of JAMC. Her favorite part of being a veterinarian is forming close relationships with animal owners and being able to foster the human-animal bond. Her professional interests include all facets of equine general practice, but primarily reproduction and dentistry, as well as small ruminant medicine. She has raised show-quality registered Oberhasli dairy goats since 2006. In her spare time, she enjoys working on her hobby farm with her goats, spending time with her energetic dog Greta and cat Vinny, and all things outdoors Wisconsin has to offer, including snowmobiling, fishing, hiking, and camping [citation].
