Dr. Mark Purser received both his Bachelor of Science degree in 1984 and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1988. He enjoys internal medicine cases and dentistry. Dr. Purser was always surrounded by animals growing up: dogs, cats, birds, snakes, turtles, lizards, and more. He is a proud Aggie and attended Texas A&M University. Dr. Purser opened Highland Knolls Veterinary Hospital in April 1999. He believes in and advocates for preventative medicine to keep pets healthy their entire lives. Originally from Greenville, Mississippi, Dr. Purser and his wife call the Katy area home and hope to retire here someday. Dr. Purser married his wife Angela in May of 1991. Together, they have two children: their son, Chase, and their daughter, Kristen. Just about anywhere Dr. Purser goes, you can typically find him with his constant companion and shadow, # (Hashtag, the mini Aussie). Dr. Purser and his wife also have a constant pack of four-legged family members: π (Pi),

(Attie), and $.¢¢ (Cha-Ching). Dr. Purser has been very active in the veterinary community his entire career. He is a member and previous president of the Harris County Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Purser is also a member and former delegate for the Board of Regents for the Texas Veterinary Medical Association and a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association. In addition, Dr. Purser has been an active member of the Harris County Veterinary Medical Foundation since 1997, where he served as the past president and is currently on the Board of Trustees [citation].
