Kenzie was born and raised in the Lower Keys. She attended Key West High School, graduating in 2013, and went on to attend Florida State University, where she majored in Anthropology. While in Tallahassee, Kenzie discovered her love for helping and serving animals through working in pet retail and volunteering with Black Cats and Old Dogs Animal Rescue, for which she currently serves on the board of directors. After returning to the Keys, she began her journey in veterinary medicine as a technician, receptionist, and eventually an assistant manager of a local animal hospital. Her experience in these roles helped her to develop key skills in many aspects of animal care and client education. When she is not at work, Kenzie can most often be found training and spending time with her dogs, Charlie and Zeemo. Charlie is a Golden Retriever mix adopted in 2016 in Tallahassee, FL. She has earned multiple AKC trick and obedience titles and loves to learn new tricks and commands. Zeemo is a "foster fail" chihuahua mix, adopted from FKSPCA in 2021. He is working hard every day to overcome his fears and learn how to be a normal dog. Kenzie also enjoys kayak fishing, hiking, and taking care of her freshwater aquariums.
