Dr. Victoria Kartashova was born and raised in Voronezh, Russia. Over the years, she gained invaluable experience working in general practice, urgent care, and emergency medicine at several hospitals in the Bay Area. Her favorite areas of veterinary medicine are internal medicine and surgery. Dr. Kartashova has always had a special connection with cats. Growing up surrounded by them, she also volunteered at a local cat club during high school, assisting judges at cat shows. Later, she contributed educational articles on feline diseases to a Russian magazine targeted at cat breeders.
After relocating to Virginia in 2024, drawn by its natural beauty, four seasons, and vibrant cultural life, Dr. Kartashova is excited to join Kingstowne Cat Clinic and focus on her favorite species. At home, she has a Silken Windhound named Yenisei, her first puppy, whom she got after her beloved 17-year-old cat passed away in 2023. Anyone who meets Yenisei agrees that he is more of a hybrid between a cat and a horse than a dog. Dr. Kartashova looks forward to welcoming a new cat into her family soon too.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling, dancing tango, attending theater, ballet, and concerts (from classical to rock), reading, occasional horseback riding, and exploring new adventures with Yenisei.
