Dr. Anna Johnson grew up in Ghana (West Africa) and gained special insight into what life for our four-legged compatriots looks like without regular health care. She graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. After her graduation, she spent her first five years in a mixed animal practice setting in eastern Colorado before focusing on exclusively small animal medicine in 2009. Dr. Anna believes in maintaining pets’ best quality of life through preventive medicine and tailored diagnostic and treatment plans for each pet and its family’s needs. She loves the challenge of complex medical and surgical cases, but the heart and soul of what gets her up each morning include making the best of the relationships between pets and their families. Dr. Anna enjoys reading, baking, and glamping with her husband and two children. When she’s not doing that, she is busy keeping the peace between her earnest Border Collie, “Cross,” sassy Mini Aussie, “Chouli,” and the devoted Standard Poodle, “Boue.” She is also a member of several professional organizations, including the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management (IVAPM), Fear Free Certified Veterinarian, American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Douglas County Veterinary Medical Association (DCVMA), and Kansas Veterinary Medical Association (KSVMA). Her areas of special interest include dentistry, pain management, geriatric medical management, and surgery [citation][2].
