Amira Ahmed is an Instructor of Parasitology and Section Head of Parasitology, LADDL, in the Department of Pathobiological Sciences at LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. She earned her PhD from a joint supervision program between Purdue University and Assiut University in 2016. Her research interests include host-parasite interactions, anthelmintic resistance, parasite identification, and diagnostic methods. She serves as an instructor for the Clinical Veterinary Parasitology course (VMED 5235) and coordinates and instructs the Parasitology rotation within the Diagnostic Pathology course (VMED 5452). Amira leads parasitology diagnostic activities at the Louisiana Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory, providing consultation on cases in livestock and companion animals, and is actively engaged in developing and validating molecular diagnostic tools for parasites [citation][3].
