Dr. Maya Chapman was born in Texas and grew up in Huntsville, AL. She moved to Niceville in 2005 after graduating veterinary school and practiced up in Crestview for nine years. In the summer of 2014, she left the clinic in Crestview to open her own place locally. She is married to Stewart Chapman and has a daughter, Charlee (born 2012), two dogs: Sioux (an aussie/heeler mix) and Ammo (German shorthair pointer).
Dr. Chapman has three degrees all from Auburn University: 1999 BS in Animal Science, 2001 MS in Equine Nutrition and Biochemistry, and 2005 DVM from the College of Veterinary Medicine. She loves the outdoors and enjoys activities like fishing, bottom fishing, and wildlife/outdoor photography. For quiet time, she is an avid reader, especially of science fiction/fantasy. To stay in shape, she participates in trail running, weight lifting, yoga, and hiking. She enjoys participating in local 5k races with her friends when she gets the chance.
Dr. Chapman is a member of the local Miracle Strip Veterinary Society, Florida VMA, and AVMA. She is also a Lifetime Member of the Auburn Alumni Association [citation].
