Melanie Mitchel is a Dallas native who attended Texas A&M, where she received her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science with a minor in Business. She graduated with honors from the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. Melanie has known she wanted to be a veterinarian since she was very young and started volunteering in the kennel at Midway Hollow Pet Clinic during high school. She has 2 cats, Oliver and Grace, and a chocolate Labrador Retriever named Sadie. A fun fact about Melanie is that she found a small kitten in her backyard on a rainy day in 2003 and brought her into the clinic, where the kitten became the clinic cat, Pluto [citation][5].
