Monica lives in Lima, OH with her husband of 33 years, Keith Purcell. She and Keith have 3 grown sons, Jon, Jordan, and Zac. Monica is an avid animal lover and believes we are to be the voice for them. She has two dogs, 2 cats, and pekin ducks as well as a grand puppy and grand kitty.
Monica is a 1986 graduate of Wapakoneta High School, as well as a 1990 graduate from Daytona Beach University majoring in Healthcare Administration. Monica worked 32 years in the healthcare industry as a practice manager, medical assistant, as well as owning and operating her own medical billing, coding, and consulting firm for 18 years. After retiring from healthcare in 2022, Monica returned to college full-time graduating in 2023 from Liberty University where she studied Biblical Studies. Monica is also an ordained minister and teaches multiple Bible Study classes each week and is actively doing her internship at Shawnee Alliance Church in Lima, OH.
Monica came to Mile Creek Animal Hospital as a client rehabilitating her grand puppy, Ash, after spine surgery. When the front desk position became available, she jumped at the opportunity to work with animals... so much for retirement.
