Matthew Wright is a proud alumni of Kansas State University, where he earned his BA in Animal Science in 1992 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. His early exposure to veterinary care began at Millard Veterinary Clinic, a practice founded by his father, Steven E. Wright. Growing up, he enjoyed owning horses and gained extensive experience with large animals in Western Nebraska.
In 2001, he joined Millard Veterinary Clinic as a DVM and expanded their family legacy by opening Millard West Veterinary Clinic in 2004. Following his father’s passing in 2007, he took over leadership of both locations. In 2016, he established Elkhorn South Veterinary Clinic, further broadening their services across three practices to better serve the Elkhorn area.
Matthew Wright thrives on the diversity of general veterinary practice, where no two days are the same. He is thoroughly involved in every aspect of his patients' care, with a special interest in orthopedics and ultrasonography. He is also the principal veterinarian for the SNAFU Rescue Program. With over 20 years of experience, his passion for veterinary medicine continues to grow. He values the relationships he builds with clients and their pets and believes in leading by example, having performed every task in their clinics from grounds maintenance to management.
Outside of veterinary care, he enjoys boating, working outdoors, and spending quality time with his wife and two daughters. He holds an Ultrasound Certification and is committed to lifelong learning to enhance the care he provides at their clinics [citation].
