Dr. Patricia Winston grew up on a grain farm near Decatur, IL. She has been passionate about animals since she was a child, having determined by age 5 that she was going to be a veterinarian. Dr. Winston graduated with her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois College of ACES in 2008, and with her Doctorate degree from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. She is the current President for the Tazewell County Veterinary Medical Association and is an active member of the AVMA and ISVMA. Dr. Winston’s professional areas of interest include soft tissue surgery and dentistry.
After a brief employment near Indianapolis, Dr. Winston and her family returned to the Peoria area to be closer to family and friends. She worked for 5 years at a veterinary clinic in Pekin, IL, after which she spent time traveling around Central Illinois as a Relief Veterinarian.
Dr. Winston and her husband, Brett, have two girls. Their family also includes two dogs, a Golden Retriever/Irish Setter mix named Elsa and a German Shorthaired Pointer named Cali. With Brett’s role at the Caterpillar facility in Morton, and their oldest daughter enrolled at Blessed Sacrament, the Winstons are excited to continue to grow with the Morton community [citation].
