Dr. Jessica R. Krueger was raised in Columbiana County, OH, and went to Leetonia High School. Growing up, she was passionate about horseback riding and showing, and she was very active in sports and music. After high school, Dr. Jessica attended The University of Findlay, majoring in Pre-Veterinary Medicine/Biology-Life Sciences. At UF, she was a member of the Western Equestrian team. She graduated in 2002 and moved on to veterinary school at The Ohio State University. She completed her externship with Dr. Ron Genovese at Cleveland Equine studying equine sports medicine. Dr. Jessica graduated in 2006 and went back home to work for her mentor at a mixed animal practice in Lisbon, OH, for nearly a year before moving on to work with Dr. Rob here in Mount Vernon. Her main professional areas of interest include small animal internal medicine, indoor cat behavior and health, weight control nutrition, preventative health care planning, parasitology, and zoonoses. She also works with Dr. Rob from time to time on cases in equine lameness and sports medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Jessica enjoys spending time with friends and family, working with her old mare “April” and her gelding “Roscoe,” as well as painting and going to concerts. Dr. Rob and Dr. Jessica, together, live on a small farm and have two children, Samuel and Lily. They also have five-legged family members: three dogs (a rascally Australian Cattle Dog named “Fancy,” a Cairn Terrier puppy named Bolt, and a zany Australian Shepherd named “Muddy”), one very ornery cat named “Mater,” and a guinea pig named “Happy Happy.” [citation]
