Dr. Ross Mahowald graduated from Ohio State University in 1994. He opened My Neighborhood Vet after 25 years in practice at modern practices in Ohio and here in Chicago. His primary interest areas include feline and canine medicine, dentistry, cardiology, internal medicine, ultrasound, and laser surgery. When not working to improve the health of your family, he can be found spending time with his two Bernese Mountain Dogs, Lola and Buckingham, or riding his bicycle to and from work or for a longer ride to Indiana or Wisconsin. Dr. Ross currently serves as a President of the Board at Tree House Humane Society and is always looking to contribute to My Neighborhood Vet’s community. He enjoys participating in fund raising bike rides and supporting the many rescue groups and other non-profit organizations in our community through fundraising and veterinary service. He also enjoys public speaking and answering questions about veterinary medicine for all age ranges. Dr. Ross recently received his Elite Fear Free Certification and all of our staff are required to complete Fear Free Certification within 6 months of joining [citation].
