Dr. Shane Burkhead is one of the first in a long list of DVMs who started their veterinary experience as a technician at NFAH. Another Auburn graduate, Class of 1996, Dr. Burkhead is one of the first in a long list of DVMs who started their veterinary experience as a technician at NFAH. He was invited to join the practice as a DVM immediately upon graduation and celebrates over 25 years of partnership. Dr. Burkhead and his wife Michele enjoy a large family here in Tallahassee that includes his parents and Michelle's mother, which came in handy with twin girls and two sons. Pets for all rounded out a very busy household. We look forward to one of his children following in his footsteps as tech to DVM @ NFAH one day. Over the years, he has enjoyed leadership roles in not just veterinary programs such as Big Bend Veterinary Medical Association or the Florida Veterinary Medical Association but also local charitable groups such as Boys Town. On his days off, Dr. Burkhead enjoys spending time with the family, camping, fishing, and lots of church family activities.
