Dr. LaVacca was born and raised in New York. After completing a Bachelor of Science degree at Elon University in North Carolina in 2011, she was inducted into the Biological Honor Society (Beta Beta Beta). She earned a DVM degree from Ross University in 2016 and completed her clinical year at Cornell University Veterinary Hospital. Dr. LaVacca is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). While she enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, she has a special interest in both endocrinology and rehabilitation/physical therapy. Dr. LaVacca became certified in Canine Rehabilitation from the Canine Rehabilitation Institute in 2023. She is also fear free certified. She is excited to offer rehabilitation and multimodal pain therapy working to keep the pep in all dogs steps. Before starting her veterinary career, Dr. LaVacca spent much of her time training horses and teaching horsemanship at a horseback riding farm and children’s camp in upstate New York. She also toured through Europe as a classical singer. She enjoys taking trips to her family's farmhouse in the Catskill Mountains, where she continues to enjoy horseback riding, and going on hiking trails with her dog Sydney.
