Carrie's career in veterinary medicine began as a volunteer for a local rescue group where she assisted on their veterinary team for several years, coordinating care with local veterinary offices. During that time, she fostered many dogs and spent a lot of time at partner vets. When a job opportunity opened up for a receptionist at one of those clinics, she jumped at the chance and hasn't looked back. Carrie's favorite part of veterinary medicine is working with rescue partners and rescue dogs, especially bully breeds. Carrie and her family have fostered close to 100 Pitbulls with specific medical needs and have adopted many that otherwise wouldn't be adoptable [citation].
