Dr. Katie Sandel was raised in Apple Valley, MN. She moved out of Minnesota with her Marine husband for several years, and finally came home to Minnesota after being away for 9 years. While she was away, she received her undergraduate degree from Fort Valley State University in Veterinary Technology. Dr. Sandel received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota in May of 2023. Dr. Sandel enjoys clinical pathology, and preventative medicine. Dr. Sandel has three young kids, which enjoy playing hockey. She has two dogs, a bloodhound named Charlie, who provides endless wrinkles, and a Labrador mix named Semi, who was hit by a semi-truck as a stray. She also has two cats named Meeko and Sitka, and many chickens. In Dr. Sandel’s free time, she enjoys gardening, crocheting, watching the kids play hockey, and enjoying the countryside.
