Beth May was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. Allergic to all animals as a child, she had no pets until middle school. 'Watson,' a Miniature Schnauzer mix, was the key to turning her thoughts towards a career in the veterinary profession. Beth and her twin sister Amy attended HB Plantation High School. After graduating in 1993, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia to attend Emory University and run Cross Country. With a BS in Biology four years later, she moved to Cartersville, Georgia to work at Animal Medical Center by day and waitress/bartend at Taco Mac by night. One year and many wonderful experiences later, she moved to Athens, Georgia to attend the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. Four years later, in 2002, she graduated and moved to Quincy, Florida to begin work at Quincy Animal Hospital. She became a co-owner of Quincy Animal Hospital in 2012. In February of 2004, Beth Rooks became Beth May in Jackson Wyoming where she eloped with her husband, Ashley May. (Yes, he was the son of a client. Thanks 'Maggie'... May for having skin problems!) In September of 2005, they welcomed Fountain David May to the menagerie and in 2010, Jesse Brinson May also joined the circus. Their own pets include a 9-year-old black Lab, "Duke," and an 8-year-old yellow Lab, "Ellie Mae" May. In her spare time, she enjoys cake decorating, canning, and cross stitching.
