Dr. Larry grew up in New Port Richey, Florida. He attended the University of Florida and graduated with Honors with a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology in 1985. He then attended the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. While in veterinary school, he served as Senior Class President, received the Laura and Clyde Spears Rural Animal Medicine Award, and the Large and Small Animal Proficiency in Surgery Award. He received his DVM degree in 1989. His parents moved to the Quincy area during his time in school, and he took a job with Quincy Animal Hospital in 1989. In 1991, he and his wife Shari purchased the clinic. Dr. Larry married his high school sweetheart, Shari, in 1982. They had their first child, JT, three days before Dr. Larry's vet school graduation. Their second child, Katy Jo, arrived in 1993. JT graduated from Robert F Munroe Day School in 2007 and the University of Florida in 2012. Katy Jo graduated from Flagler University at TCC and taught for three years at her Alma Mater, Robert F. Munroe. She accepted a position at Hosford Elementary in 2019. Shari graduated with her teaching degree from Flagler University, TCC Campus, and taught at Robert F Munroe until her retirement in 2019. Dr. Larry is an avid duck and turkey hunter and salt water fisherman. He serves on the Rabies Compendium Committee for the State of Florida. The family has two dogs: Ollie (Dachshund) and Anise (English Cocker). They also have one cat: Marmalade 2 [citation].
