Dr. Patterson grew up in West Hartford and had a love for animals from elementary school all the way to high school. She was a 4-H kid. She earned her Bachelor's in animal science through UConn. While at UConn, she participated in IHSA as a Western Team member and submitted an Honors thesis in equine muscle biology. Dr. Patterson received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Missouri. She rotated through companion animal, equine, and livestock clinical services. She also completed an internship at an equine hospital in New Hampshire before entering a mixed animal practice in Massachusetts. She is excited to be returning home to Connecticut and joining SBVH as a small animal Veterinarian. Dr. Patterson enjoys educating pet owners on wellness care and preventative medicine. She also has interests in surgery, ultrasonography, and ophthalmology. She shares her home in West Hartford with her fiancé, Mike, and Australian Shepherd, Rooster.
